Linda Webb-Khakaba - Music that Heals, Empowers, and Encourages

Martin Ucik, Keyboards · Vocals · Bass Martin Ucik, Keyboards · Vocals · Bass

Martin is a native German who moved to Santa Rosa, CA in 1995 to distribute Pro Audio products from European companies in the US. With over 30 years playing experience in bands both in Europe and the US, Martin is well versed in rock, pop, and R&B. He enjoys pretty much any kind of music that is played from the heart, and has a strong groove. He met Linda in fall of 2001 while singing in the Men's ensemble at the Church of Religious Science. Impressed with her playing, voice and talent as a songwriter, he felt honored to be invited to play with her at church one Sunday. They found out right away that they complement each other well on keyboards and vocals. His Hammond b3 sound is reminiscent of some of the great R&B organ sounds of the 60's and 70's. He also supports the band with solid technical knowledge of electronics and sound production. Martin deeply appreciates his involvement with the band and connects with them not only musically, but socially and spiritually as well.

David Miller, Percussion · Saxophone · Vocals · Harmonica David Miller, Percussion · Saxophone · Vocals · Harmonica

David, Linda's partner (see photos), is a native New Yorker from Flushing, Queens. He began playing alto sax in the 6th grade, switching to tenor, as a freshman. He formed a band as a sophomore in high school. After moving to Hawaii as a senior, "it was all about the guitar" he says ruefully, "no rock bands wanted a sax player." David always loved to drum on things, from armchairs to dashboards, so percussion came naturally. "Besides, as a Chiropractor I love to pound on things" he jokes. He started playing Congas about 6 years ago. His latest toy, a Roland Handsonic, freestanding electronic conga, gives him 600 plus sounds to play with and sequencing capability. Watching David's blissful expression while grooving to a percussion line is part of the show. "Sometimes the rhythms just take me to a really joyful place." I consider myself to be very lucky to be playing music with these guys, who are both great musicians and wonderful people. Also, it's a dream come true to be in relationship with such a talented and wonderful woman as Linda."

Mark Herczog, Lead Guitar · VocalsMark Herczog, Lead Guitar · Vocals

Mark has been playing professionally for over 30 years, and has played in numerous bands. His favorite types of music are rock, blues, R&B, jazz, and soul. Mark was deeply moved by Linda's singing and piano playing every time he saw her perform at Church. After hearing a CD that he had made, Linda invited him to play with her on Sundays and join her band. This is a great opportunity for me to play with Linda and a wonderful group of musicians. I love her music, and the message she brings of love and hope through Divine Spirit." Mark is a truly accomplished guitarist, and compares favorably with anybody you might name.

Bob Fahnestock, Bass Bob Fahnestock, Bass

Bob was raised in Western Missouri and began playing music professionally at the tender age of 9 in a family band. "My beginning roots were in bluegrass and country." As my musical career progressed, I played rock, blues, jazz, and country with many bands. Bob can play bass, guitar, 5-string banjo, and mandolin, pretty much anything with strings except a fiddle. He has also enjoyed some success as a songwriter. Bob recalls, "My initial connection with Linda was through a song I wrote that she was gracious enough to record." That song, "Open to the Miracle of Love", is performed many times every month, and is sung all over the world. Bob is a man of deep wisdom and few words, the perfect archetypal bass player, helping lay down the rhythmic foundation for Linda's music in a solid, yet unobtrusive way.
